HOME AGAIN!!

I arrived home on Pearl Harbor day.  It was a great reunion with Vicki.  The first few days back, she prepared all my favorite foods.  Brandon arrived the following week from Abilene Christian University. He made us quite proud when we learned that he had made the Dean's Honor Roll for his first semester at ACU (only 1 B, the rest were A's)We drove to Houston to spend Christmas 2003 with Vicki's sister's family.  Her parents had driven there from California.  Our good friends and supporters of this work, Mike and Kathleen Calhoun, also from California, flew over to join us too.   After a week in Houston, we came back to Memphis.  Vicki had produced a lengthy "honey-do" list which I am still working on.   During the weekend of January 17, we flew to Baltimore to visit my parents.  It was also my mother's 75th birthday.  The church held a special spaghetti supper and hosted their annual "No-talent Talent Show" the evening of her birthday.  My nephew surprised my mother with a special Power Point presentation and a song.  It was a great evening.  I spoke at the Eastside Church of Christ Sunday morning. We flew back to Memphis on Monday afternoon.

During this interim time away from Korea, I have continued to stay busy, as I prepare to return at the end of February.  I have worked on several transcripts of television broadcasts.  These will then be transformed to Korean subtitles by the CBS staff back in Seoul.  The shows will air sometime this spring.  I continue to study the Korean language while I am home, and hope for the day when I can be fluent enough to teach or preach in the language. Please pray that this goal is attainable.

One of my new jobs at Korea Christian University is directing the International Exchange program.  So I have been in contact with several of our brotherhood institutions during the time home, seeking ways they can assist the mission efforts in Korea.   In this regard I plan to attend the Freed-Hardeman University and Abilene Christian University Lectures in February.  I have also been able to see many of you, and the churches which so generously support this work.  I cannot thank you enough for all of your good thoughts and prayers.  It is genuinely a team effort.  Thanks for remaining on the team!
